Blog stage Two

September 17, 2015, the Texas tribune published  interactive 2014 rates poor residents across Texas

Texas has excellent economy but that did not prevent some people to be in the lower end of income, where they fell in to poverty.

Estimates from 2014 American community survey showed that Texas poor residents declined in 2014 from 17.5 to 17.2 percent.

Although across Texas in 25 metropolitan areas it was up to 48.8 percent poor in Brownsville, Texas and somewhere in between in other areas in Texas. It is mostly because of the under 18 years of age that brought in the higher percentage in Texas.

Another factor have contributed to the high percentage is the wage difference between men’s and women’s wage, where women’s income is about 10K per year less than of the man’s income per year per person.

It was interesting to know from the article that women’s wage pay is still about 10K per person per year less than of man’s pay. The article is really worth reading it.
